Photo & Bio Coming Soon! Penny RamirezSecretary
Hi! My name is Penny Ramirez. These are 2 of my Morgans, Ancan Reason to Bee and UVM Fletcher. I'm a mom to 3 little girls, 3 dogs, and 4 horses. I've been riding Morgans since I was 4 and they've always been my first love. I've enjoyed being involved with SSMHA as a youth member, a board member, a volunteer, and now as secretary! Erin ParkinSocial Media Manager
Erin began riding Morgan horses at the age of 3 years old and never looked back. She got her first horse, a Morgan mare named Bush Creek Amity aka Jennifer, at the age of 16 and has had her ever since. Erin welcomed home her second Morgan mare, UC Cue the Music aka Melody in November of 2024. She has competed in the hunters, jumpers, in-hand, trail, and western, but her heart, along with Jennifer's will always belong to the jumper ring. Erin has a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design & Multimedia Arts, a certification in Social Media Marketing, and is working on her second bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity & Information Assurance. She is enjoying being on the SSMHA board as the Social Media Manager as it allows her to combine her love for both the Morgan Horse & design. |

Calliope Welsh is a lifelong equestrian that, like many of us, practically grew up at the barn. After her life was transformed and made whole by the Morgan horse, in and out of the show ring, the decision to dedicate herself personally and professionally to doing all she can for the horses that raised her was not only the best choice, but the only one for Calliope. Fast forward years into the future - Calliope is a professional farrier, horse trainer, and riding instructor that takes great joy in getting to help her local Morgan horse community thrive while sharing joy that horses create in our lives. Getting to be apart of the board for the Sooner State Morgan Horse Association is exactly what Calliope stands for; helping carry on the love of the Morgan, giving back to the community that made her who she is, and giving opportunity to the next generation of equestrians. |
Karen SingerBoard Member
Karen has been horse obsessed since she was 10 years old and has known since the age of 11 that she wanted to be involved in the horse world. She declared as a professional upon the completion of her junior exhibitor career and has devoted her time to understanding training, teaching, and osteopathy for both horse & rider. Despite being in Texas and primarily training Saddlebreds, the Morgan horse and their people holds a special place in her heart. She has been part of SSMHA since 2016 and has served on the board as a member and Vice President. She hopes to continue assisting with the club's growth and helping it thrive while supporting love for the Morgan horse. Hailey Uriarte
